Tremendous Results for Down High AS and A-Level Pupils

14th Aug 2025
🙌🏻 It was a pleasure to welcome our AS and A-Level pupils to the new building on the Strangford Road today to receive their results. There was a palpable sense of celebration over their tremendous achievements. At A-Level, 89.8% of our pupils achieved three grades at A*-C. 46% of all grades were A* or A while 99 of our pupils achieved at least one A-grade. 25 pupils secured three A-grades or more. Matthew Duffy, Samuel Edgar, Ray McCormick, Tayla Robinson and Rachel Whewell gained 4 A-grades or more, while Patrick Maginnis, Patrick Majorczyk and James Wright each achieved 3 A*.

It was wonderful to hear of so many pupils gaining access to their universities of choice with a growing number of students embarking on Higher Level Apprenticeships. The school are especially proud to have 5 pupils who gained entry to Oxbridge courses; Ollie Torney - Biology at New College Oxford, Patrick Maginnis - Law and French at St Hughs Oxford, Josh Herron - Music at Magdalene Cambridge, Kyle Bradshaw - Music at St John’s Cambridge, and Grace McMullan - Veterinary Science at Emmanuel College Cambridge.

At AS-Level, 25 pupils secured at least 3 A grades with 40% of all results achieved being grade A. We are so proud of our pupils and congratulate them for all their dedication to their studies. They have truly embodied the school motto, ‘Nothing Achieved without Effort.’ We also acknowledge the committed staff who have supported these pupils on their journey to this point and are grateful to the parents who have partnered with the school in support of their young people. 🤝
