Old Dunumians
President: Mrs Hilary McGuire

Mr Logan with Mrs Hilary McGuire, President of the ODA
The Old Dunumians Association is open to all past pupils of the school and aims to enable former students to keep in touch with each other and support the life and work of Down High.
In recent years the Old Dunumians presented the school with an Honours Board which is displayed prominently outside the Margaret Curry Library and a glass cabinet to display memorabilia in the foyer of the Fowweather Building. The President of the Old Dunumians will present commemorative plaques to the Head Boy and Head Girl annually on Prize Day.
Each Boxing Day morning hockey matches are held and provide a focal point for renewing old friendships. In the summer, cricket and tennis activities are organised and there is an annual golf outing in May, with prizes available for former pupils and visitors. The 40th golf competition was held at the Annesley Links, Newcastle on 8 May 2008.
The Annual General Meeting is held in April and all members receive a bulletin detailing recent events and outlining forthcoming plans. Recently a number of year groups have held res and these have been very successful. Speaker Evenings are events that allow former students to return to the school to inform members of the Association about their activities in a particular field, be it the media, business, research or public service.
The Old Dunumians Association organised the 75th Anniversary Re event at the school in May 2008. The Down High diaspora was much in evidence as former pupils returned to visit from as far afield as New Zealand, Canada and Finland.
Any past pupil who wishes to join the Old Dunumians can contact the Honorary Secretary, c/o the school for further information. Alternatively, please download a PDF application form below.
We particularly want to appeal to those who have recently left Down High School to consider joining the Old Dunumians Association. Lifetime membership costs only £10. This represents excellent value and will allow you to keep in touch with old friends as well as meeting new ones.
