Year 11 Pupils Involved in Gaelic Football and Rugby Coaching Sessions

26th Jun 2019

Year 11 pupils from St. Patrick’s Grammar School welcomed Down High School to enjoy a relaxed day of sport, fun and friendship. The students enjoyed glorious weather as Mr John Devlin, from St. Patrick’s Grammar, got proceedings underway with a GAA skills session. The boys practised their hand-pass and catch and kick skills preparing them for the competitive game which followed.
Next, the boys from Red High were treated to a rugby session provided by Mr James McBriar, Down High rugby coach. The pupils enjoyed the opportunity to perfect the art of passing the ball, and they soon got stuck into small mini-games of touch rugby.
This was a great day allowing the boys to understand the merits of each sport and valuable transferable skills were taken away from the event.
