If you thought the Young Farmers’ Club was all about welly boots and tractors think again! Regardless of personal circumstance, urban or rural background, Down High YFC offers pathways to friendship, achievement and chances to take control. The main programme can consist of almost anything that the members want to do. The only restriction is their imagination and the practical constraints on putting plans into action. Throughout the year activities can range from simple art competitions, to machinery handling, and a tag rugby tournament.
The aim of YFC is to encourage members to learn new skills, work together as a team and try something new. One of the most popular events in the Down High YFC calendar is the annual trip to the Balmoral Show. So if you are eager to participate in competitive sports, brain-racking quizzes or confidence-building competitions, the Young Farmers’ Club is the place to be.
In previous years members have participated in public speaking, debating and “something from scrap” competitions, always achieving outstanding results.
