A committed and dedicated staff ensures that rugby plays an integral part of the life of Down High School, with over 65% of each year group election to play the game. Pupils train during Games afternoons and in addition will turn out for an afternoon session every week. Weekly fixtures take place each Saturday from September to March. All junior teams get the opportunity to go on the annual tour to British cities, while senior students tour every three years. The next overseas trip is scheduled for July 2011.
