Year 10 Geography pupils raise funds for Christian Aid South Sudan Appeal

14th Apr 2017

Thank you to Year 10 pupils who participated in a sponsored Geography lesson without furniture to raise money for the people of South Sudan as part of an appeal by Christian Aid - £665 in total. Pupils have been studying World Development as well as the causes for the Development Gap in Geography classes. Christian Aid have stated that the situation in East Africa is the worst humanitarian crisis since 1945.

Christian Aid partners in South Sudan have long been providing life-saving humanitarian assistance to displaced people and the most vulnerable conflict-affected households.

In Panyijiar County, Unity State, their partner UNIDO has been distributing seeds, farming tools and fishing gear to help families get back on their feet. They have also provided agricultural training, repaired community water points, built latrines and handed out sanitation and hygiene supplies.

The money raised will be used in this essential relief effort.
