U13 Girls Are Northern Ireland Soccer Champs
Congratulations to the Under-13 Girls Football team who won the Ulster Football Championship held at the Mid-Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown on Wednesday 20 June. Having triumphed in the County Down preliminary heat, the girls, coached by former student and leading soccer trainer Hannah Majury, overcame Castlederg High School 2-1 to lift the impressive trophy. The goals were scored by the skilful Abigail Reid and Sarah Connolly, capped recently by Northern Ireland. The winning goal was celebrated enthusiastically by Hannah and by Miss Heaney, who travelled with the team to Cookstown.
The team, captained by Year 9 pupil Stacey Bryce, showed flair, commitment and excellent teamwork throughout the tournament.
