NETBALL
Netball continues to be a popular at Down High, with a number of teams turning out regularly to play in both province-wide and locally-based competitions. Expertly coached by Dr Napier, Miss Heaney, Miss Hill and Miss Marrs, our players have developed their individual and team skills and the Intermediate team has enjoyed considerable success, stringing together impressive victories against local schools. The Minor girls were also successful winning the East Down League 2008. After-school practice sessions are attended by large numbers of girls and the competitive nature of local competitions makes netball a focus for both sporting excellence and friendship.
