For pRIMARY PUPILS
JOEL JAMES LOWE
On my first day at Down High I walked into the assembly hall, not knowing what to expect, as there was nobody else from my primary school there. I found the colour coded ties very helpful in telling me who was and who was not in my class.
Early in the first term we went to Cultra for three days. Here we enjoyed various activities such as archery, a court room drama, baking soda farls and orienteering. It really helped me to get to know the other First Formers.
At Down High we study a large range of subjects. Some of my favourite subjects are Technology, Maths and Music. I like Technology because we recently made a Soma Cube and are currently designing and making a clock.
There is a range of sports and after-school clubs such as hockey, rugby, cadets, Young Farmers Club, Scripture Union and others.
If you decide to come to Down High, I'm sure you will be made very welcome, as I was, by both teachers and pupils.
